Boho Beautiful in 10 Days launched with love and dedication. What was the journey like in creating that program?
It wasn’t an easy journey to bring a vision like Boho Beautiful in 10 Days to Life. We wanted to create something more than just a yoga or fitness DVD Program. We believe in an all rounded well-being and health of our physical and mental state. That’s why we decided to put together a program that included all the aspects of health and wellness through 38 videos of yoga, fitness, meditations, and words of wisdom. It was a two week process of shooting hours upon hours in Exuma, Bahamas. In the hot sun, with sand fleas, mosquitoes, thunder storms, you name it we went through it. Literally our blood, sweat, and tears went into creating a project that was very dear to our hearts. There was a point where we had to stop shooting for a day due to the fact that my (Juliana) skin was covered with so many sand flea bites that it looked like I had chicken pox! After soaking in oatmeal and vinegar for a day we pulled it through. What came out of the two weeks of shooting and many months of editing and putting together was a special package that we hope to touch many people’s lives with.
You both recently left everything behind to travel and embrace life to its fullest. How did you find the courage and motivation to start that new adventure?
For a long time we lived a life where it almost felt like the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray, where he relives the same day over and over again. We found ourselves longing for something deeper than the city life we lived. We felt a calling, a desire, and fear to do something we will forever remember. Create memories, stories, experiences that will fulfill us in a deeper spiritual way, therefore we had no choice but to leave everything behind. Leave and not look back. Of course we were blessed to have our business and YouTube channel support us financially to give us the opportunity to do that but we probably would have done it either way.
Wanderlust plays such a huge role in your lives, what was the most impactful place you visited?
We are currently traveling through Southeast Asia so it’s hard to say as we know we will be visiting more places that will most likely impact us in a deeper way, however so far we would have to say Kanchanaburi,Thailand. Not because of the city but the Elephant Haven Sanctuary and the people we met through the experience of volunteering at the sanctuary. Watch the Experience: HERE
How does your connection with nature inspire your yoga practice?
Our connection with nature plays a big part in our practice. There’s something very beautiful about doing yoga and feeling the wind on your face, the ground underneath you, the warmth of the sun on your skin. It helps us connect deeper with Earth and mother nature. To feel the frequency of life and our true awareness of that very moment.
What are your daily rituals?
- Morning yoga practice.
- Gratitude affirmations to set the tone of the day in a positive way.
- Creating a list on paper of the goals and things we must accomplish for that day and spending time in nature may it be a walk in the jungle or a swim in the ocean.
What advice do you have for those who want to implement mediation into their daily routines?
Try to add meditation at the end of your yoga practice as it will help you be more present and at peace. Don’t try to silence the mind, it will only do the opposite. Don’t try, simply be the watcher of your thoughts. Acknowledge that they’re there and then let them go. Meditate daily and it will get easier and more powerful with each time.
How do you create the balance of fitness and spiritual into your yoga practice?
Finding your personal balance between the physical aspect of yoga and taking the time to go deeper within is not an easy thing but very crucial to our well-being. I always recommend doing yoga in the morning before you start the day and jump into the everyday worries. Get up an hour earlier if you have to and dedicate time for you. Even a 20 min practice with a 10 min meditation will do wonders to your well-being and make sure you don’t find any excuses later in the day. To expand your spiritual awareness and knowledge I always recommend getting some audio books or books on different aspects of spirituality that may be calling to you or bringing out an interest in you. Educate yourself to help yourself go even deeper within.
What does Boho Beautiful symbolize to you?
The word “Boho” is short for “Bohemian” which translates to an artist, gypsy or wanderer that lives a free spirited life and believes in truth, freedom, and love. The description of the word Boho is something that could be used to describe the inner wanderlust soul inside Mark and I. We live a Boho Beautiful life that includes compassion towards all beings. Clear activism of ours believes which include the fact that we are all one and we are all equal… animals and humans. We believe that this world is too beautiful to not travel and experience the wonders that this planet has been blessed with. We believe that life should be an exciting adventure that leads you down an unknown path to finding a real purpose to our existence on this Earth. That is the meaning of our Boho Beautiful Life.
